Emotional eating is an internal struggle that can’t be fixed with an external solution.
Food is comforting when you’ve had a bad day or you’re trying to cope with negative feelings and emotions.
Eating tends to make you more present, which makes past and future struggles disappear – at least temporarily.
Unfortunately, when we rely on food to cope with our emotions, we typically end up with additional problems that need solving due to overeating and the guilt and shame and body image struggles that come along with it.
There is an optimal way of navigating emotional eating, however, and in episode 74 of our podcast – Fitness & Sushi, Deanna and Tony lay out the process for you to follow any time you’re feeling the drive to cope with your emotions using food.
In this episode – “How to Address Your Emotional Eating Struggle”, you’ll learn…
🔶 How to determine if emotional eating is the real issue
🔶 Why we turn to food when we’re not hungry
🔶 The process for navigating through an emotional eating episode
🔶 Why telling someone to just do something else is ineffective
🔶 If it’s ever OK to eat for emotional reasons
🔶 Why Tony pushed Deanna off the stool
…and much more!
