Fitness journeys should be about living your full life experience instead of being driven by fear of criticism and judgement.
So many people are using food and exercise as a way to control bigger problems in their life. Very rarely is body change the solution to these problems.
We think that having a certain body will make us worthy in the eyes of others (or ourselves). That it’ll provide armor against judgement and insecurity.
But that body pursuit just reinforces the idea you have to look a certain way to have value in this world. And that you have to change your external world in order to generate internal confidence.
The single greatest thing you can do to ensure a successful fitness journey and full life experience is to figure out the real problem you’re trying to solve or avoid. Only then will nutrition and exercise be assets for a better life instead of liabilities that keep you stuck.
