The antidote to perfectionism is self-compassion and acceptance mixed with imperfect action.
All-or-nothing thinking, which is rooted in perfectionism, tends to hold people back from taking the necessary action to overcome struggles.
This kind of thinking is sneaky but it shows up everywhere on our ideal body journey. We wait for better life conditions to start. We pause living life until we have a certain body. We write off the rest of the day or the weekend when we eat off our plan just once. We choose not to work out at all when we can’t do exactly what we want, when and where we want to do it.
This all-or-nothing mindset is one of the single biggest obstacles you can overcome both in fitness and in life.
