Body Relationship Month: Resources
Welcome to Body Relationship Month.
This isn’t another challenge to “fix” you. It’s about seeing your body not as a project to control, but as a partner you can trust again.
Below you’ll find everything for this week in one place—explore it when you’re ready.
Week 1
💛 Lesson 1 – Fear of Gaining Weight
Your fear of gaining weight is holding you back from making progress. It’s keeping you stuck and preventing you from taking risks. It’s keeping you from trusting yourself around food. It’s keeping you from letting go of the scale and self-validating your progress. It’s keeping you from choosing exercise based on what sounds enjoyable to you. And it’s keeping you from accepting yourself independently of your body size.
📖 Lesson 2 – Overcoming a Negative Body Image
Body image issues have become so widespread in society that more than half the population experience negative feelings about their body. So to help you improve your body image I’m going to show you 10 different strategies we use with our clients to help them go from hating their body, to feeling confident in their own skin and getting their life back.
🎥 Lesson 3 – Food and Body Obsession Workshop
Watch this 36 minute workshop to learn:
- Why controlling your body fuels shame
- How to separate care from appearance
- The steps to making your body an ally
🎙️ Lesson 4 – How to Love Your Body at Any Stage
Many of us struggle to overcome society’s message that you need to look a certain way to be valued. Adopting these messages (willingly or not) often creates debilitating battles with how we see our bodies. This negative body relationship can permeate nearly every aspect of life and diminish our entire experience.
Week 2
💛 Lesson 1 – Your Body is Not Your Worth
Most people are either constantly being motivated by the hope that their worth, happiness, and confidence will improve once they’re in a smaller body, or they are living in fear of losing the body they have now – feeling like any weight gain will bring them a loss of self-worth and value in society.
My life started to improve once I detached my self-worth from my body and started to see the intrinsic value I had as a human being. I stopped thinking that my body was my value, and instead saw it as a vessel that added value to my life. It went from being an ornament to being an instrument. That’s when everything from my binge eating disorder, to my public speaking phobia, to my overall life experience took a turn for the better.
📖 Lesson 2 – Conforming to Diet Culture Standards
“If you’re an adult woman, you’ve been exposed to the message that your body is your worth since you were old enough to understand language. We’ve been taught that the battle with our body is a way of life.”
This week, I’m asking you to read my personal manifesto.
🎥 Lesson 3 – The Ideal Body Challenge: Body Relationship Training
Today’s lesson is a training pulled from one of our annual Ideal Body Challenges.
This isn’t a passive video. It’s a fired-up, no-holds-barred lesson on what diet culture has done to us—and how to finally start breaking free.
✅ How diet culture destroys trust with your body
✅ Why controlling your body isn’t the same as caring for it
✅ What it actually takes to build a respectful, trusting relationship with your body
🎙️ Lesson 4 – How to Love Your Body at Any Stage
This week’s podcast episode is one of my favorites because it doesn’t just talk about why body image is hard—it digs into how you can start changing the world you’re living in every day.
Because you don’t need more discipline.
You need a safer space to exist in.
Week 3
💛 Lesson 1 – Living Your Full Life Experience
You probably have a version of this story.
For my husband Tony, it was the pool.
A friend invited him over to swim.
It was over 100 degrees in Texas.
A normal person would have said yes without thinking. But instead, he spent the day before the party standing outside with his shirt off—on purpose.
Trying to get a sunburn.
So he’d have an excuse to keep his shirt on.
📖 Lesson 2 – Can You Accept Your Body AND Want to Change It?
I know what you might be thinking:
“How can I accept my body as it is… if I still want to lose weight?”
It’s the question I get most often.
And I get it.Because for so many of us, acceptance feels like giving up.
Like saying we’re fine staying stuck.
Like we’re abandoning our health goals. But here’s the truth most plans don’t tell you:
Acceptance isn’t the opposite of change.
It’s what actually makes real change possible.“Most people have the belief that they will accept themselves after they lose weight. It’s conditional acceptance. And it rarely leads to the outcome they were hoping for.”
🎥 Lesson 3 – 4 Shifts to Stop Hating Your Body
This training is one of the most important I’ve ever taught.
It’s not cute or easy.
It’s the truth you need if you’re going to really change.
We’re going to talk about the 4 shifts that actually matter:
✅ It’s not you. It’s diet culture.
✅ Separate your body from your body image.
✅ Heal your relationship with your body.
✅ Don’t do it alone.
If you’re tired of trying to fix your body while ignoring your relationship with it, this is the training for you.
🎙️ Lesson 4 – Can Body Acceptance and Weight Loss Co-Exist?
If you’re trying to balance weight loss goals with a genuine desire for body acceptance and food freedom, this episode is for you.
In this episode — “Can Weight Loss and Healing Your Relationships with Food and Body Coexist?” — you’ll learn:
🔶 Why the traditional diet mindset can undermine your efforts to heal
🔶 How to approach weight loss without falling back into harmful diet culture habits
🔶 How to identify when your weight loss goals are in conflict with your body acceptance journey
🔶 The psychological impact of trying to achieve both weight loss and healing
🔶 Why long-term health should be prioritized over quick fixes
🔶 Why Deanna said that Tony will never look like Superman
