You know how it goes.
You have your current weight. And you have your goal weight.
Then you decide how many pounds per week you want to lose until you get there.
If all goes to plan, you’ll arrive at your destination on some specific date in the future.
Unfortunately, the date always passes without the goal being achieved.
This idea of losing xx amount of pounds in xx weeks is a construct of Diet Culture.
If anyone or any program tells you how much weight you’re going to lose in a specific amount of time, you need to run the other way.
Your body is not a machine. It does not lose weight based on a mathematical equation. “Paper weight loss” doesn’t play out in the real world.
How quickly you lose weight, and how much you lose, is NOT determined by your age, weight, height, and activity levels – it’s determined by your psychology.
Specifically… it’s determined by your current relationships with food, body, exercise, and mind.
Your current weight and life experience are being reflected by the current health of these relationships.
So if you want to achieve your healthiest weight and improve your life experience, you have to address the dysfunction in those relationships.
And how do you do that? You focus on healing.
Your Ideal Body is the natural side effect of you healing your relationships with food, body, exercise, and mind.
Yet everyone tries to lose weight by eating xxxx amount of calories, while burning xxx amount of calories working out.
It works in the short term while you are able to willpower over all the dysfunction. But it doesn’t last.
True weight less happens when it is a natural consequence of the healing process.
That’s when it’s easy, effortless, and sustainable.
