The struggle to create healthy habits is real. But that’s only because most people approach behavior change the wrong way.
Have you ever played around with two different magnets?
Depending on how their poles are arranged, the magnets will either repel or attract.
The repelling of the magnets is how most people experience behavior change.
It feels like a constant challenge to engage in the behaviors they know are good for them.
They essentially have to push themselves on a daily basis to do the things that will give them the results they want.
And as anyone who has been in this position has experienced, it takes an insane amount of willpower to sustain these behaviors, which means they don’t last, and results never manifest.
The alternative to all this is creating a situation where the magnets attract each other.
So what does this look like in real life?
One of the magnets is your desired healthy behaviors.
And the other magnet is your identity.
In other words, your behaviors, whether ideal or not, are always attracted to your current identity.
So if you want different behaviors that lead to different outcomes, you need to focus on changing your identity.
Our identity is how we define ourselves, which is made up of our values and beliefs.
That means you can magnetize healthy behaviors to you by changing your beliefs.
In particular, here at Built Daily we focus on our beliefs surrounding food, our body, and exercise.
These beliefs make up your relationships with food, body, exercise, and mind.
By healing these relationships you create a more empowering belief system and identity, which naturally attracts the behaviors you want in your life.
Point being, focus less on behaviors and more on your identity and beliefs around food and body.
